For marketplace brands, the base holds stock inside the EU close to the buyer. It preps and ships marketplace orders and handles returns, all from one pool.

The European operating base

    Marketplace orders are picked, prepped to each platform's requirements, and shipped from the held pool. The stock is handled at bulk import and moves within the EU from then on.

    Direct-to-consumer parcels draw from the same stock, with One-Stop-Shop VAT settled across the 27 member states through a single return.

  • B2B

    Wholesale and trade orders ship from that one pool as well. A marketplace order, a consumer parcel, and a B2B pallet all leave the same cleared inventory.

How is VAT handled when the same product sells across borders on several consumer channels?

EFC dispatches from stock already inside the EU, so no order is an import into the buyer country. For a seller established outside the EU, the marketplace accounts for the consumer VAT as deemed supplier under Article 14a(2) of the VAT Directive. Your own cross-border sales to consumers are intra-EU distance sales, which the One-Stop-Shop covers in one return.

How quickly does a returned, resellable item become available to sell again?

EFC relists a checked, restocked item back into the same one stock pool. It becomes available to every channel at once, rather than to the single channel it came back from. The faster an item is back in the pool, the less stock sits idle as a return.
